CDC Green Housing Study
From 2011 to 2013, Solutions managed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Green Housing Study with its project subcontractors, the Harvard School of Public Health and the University of Cincinnati, in Boston and Cincinnati, respectively. This study evaluated the benefits of green renovated housing units on adults and children with asthma, including measures of change in pre- and post-renovation biological and environmental samples. It provided a unique opportunity to access public multifamily housing, “mark-to-market” landlord-owned multifamily housing, and other multifamily housing undergoing HUD-funded renovations to evaluate how specific green building renovations influenced environmental levels of several substances.
