Patricia Harman

Communications Analyst

Patricia Harman is new to Healthy Housing Solutions. She has served as the editor-in-chief of multiple publications covering the cleaning and restoration, construction, indoor air quality, insurance, real estate, and legal industries. She covered the cleanup efforts following 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, the flooding in Nashville, Hurricane Sandy, and multiple hurricanes in recent years, as well as wildfires and other perils. A multi-award-winning editor and writer, her articles have appeared in over two dozen publications. She also hosts podcasts, webcasts, and virtual conferences.

As the director of standards and communications for two organizations, she was instrumental in the development of an ANSI-recognized standard related to the identification of soot and char in HVAC systems and worked on mold standards for homes and schools, as well as other indoor air quality-related standards.

With over 30 years of experience in the nonprofit and trade association arenas, Harman has worked at the local and national levels for several associations and an international franchise organization. In addition to teaching college courses on magazine, news, and feature writing, she has also edited nine books – including one which made the New York Times Best Seller List. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Townson University.
